Start a Teamwork conversation
Choose a shared update, a customer record, or a private teammate discussion.
Follow the steps
Confirm the workspace
Choose the workspace whose members and customer records should see the discussion, then open Teamwork in the app navigation. Conversations do not carry over to another workspace.
Choose the right conversation
Select New conversation, then Team updates for all active workspace members, Customer work for a company, opportunity, or supported ticket, or Direct message for one or more teammates. Choose the participants before starting a private group chat.
Put the decision in writing
Post a concise message. Use Reply for a thread or Mention teammate when that person needs an in-app notification. Search conversations to find earlier context.
Turn a decision into action
In a Team updates or customer-work conversation, choose Make task on the relevant message, select an active assignee, and set a due date if needed. The task links back to the message.
Keep chat in view
Choose Pop out from an open conversation to keep a compact chat window beside the rest of the app. Use the Teamwork unread count to return to messages you have not viewed.
Check the result
The conversation appears only in the intended workspace, and any follow-up task links to its source message.
A direct message is visible only to its participants and cannot be turned into a workspace-visible task. Free supports up to three members collaborating in one workspace.
